With “Still Performing”, FOTOHOF presents artistic positions that combine performance and photography. At the center of the exhibition are constructed images that conceive of the photograph as a stage. Here, photography is not only a static representation, but part of performative strategies that actively expose processes of attribution and power relations. Against this backdrop, the works of Florian Aschka & Larissa Kopp, Andy Kassier, and Milena Wojhan engage subversively with institutional and discursive spaces. They question entrenched narratives and roles within majority society, as well as the impact of digital media on our self-images.

Die Ausstellung zeigt Werke der beiden diesjährigen Gewinner Andrej Polukord (AT) und Jeremy Chih-Hao Chuang (UK). Darüber hinaus wurden je vier weitere Fotograf:innen aus Großbritannien und Österreich für die Ausstellung nominiert. Aus Großbritannien Benjamin Jones, Chidinma Nnorom, Maria Quigley und Natalie Maximova; aus Österreich Anna Jocham, Eva Maria Ocherbauer, Hessam Samavatian und Nora Obergeschwandner.
Thema des aktuellen Preises waren die ersten Worte des Shakespeare-Zitats »All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players…«. Das Österreichische Kulturforum London hat den Preis 2018 nach dem Tod von Wolf Suschitzky (1912–2016) ins Leben gerufen. In Anbetracht der doppelten Natur von Suschitzkys Identität richtet sich der Preis an Fotograf:innen, die in Großbritannien oder in Österreich leben. Der Preis wurde von einer Jury mit Fachleuten aus Österreich und Großbritannien vergeben. Ihr gehörten Anne McNeill (Impressions Gallery Bradford), Duncan Forbes (Leiter der Abteilung für Fotografie am Victoria & Albert Museum), Erwin Polanc (Fotograf), James Hyman (Direktor Centre for British Photography), Magdalena Vukovic (Photoinstitut Bonartes), Maria Venzl (Universität Linz), Peter Schreiner (FOTOHOF) und Adam Suschitzky an.
Das FOTOHOF>ARCHIV beherbergt den Nachlass von Wolf Suschitzky, daher wird der Preis als Kooperation der beiden Institutionen Austrian Cultural Forum London und dem FOTOHOF in Salzburg präsentiert.
